I couldn't imagine life without creative movement. No matter what form that movement takes... dance, gymnastics, yoga, martial arts... it is all an expression. As a mother of four, I've learned how important that movement is to our children and how we need to foster it in them (and in ourselves) to optimize a healthy balance in our lives.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity and the support of my husband and my family to bring to Gallatin County, an environment where kids can grow and thrive and families can feel supported and balanced. The mental and physical well-being of the kids in our care is paramount and that is evident through our programming and staffing. I want to build the kind of place where every kid leaves asking when they get to come back!
Meet Carolyne Burdick, a passionate gymnast turned coach, whose heart beats for the thrill of gymnastics. Graduating with degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology from Montana State University, her love for the sport has only deepened over the years.
Carolyne's journey in gymnastics began as a young athlete, twirling through the air with determination and grace. As a coach since the age of 16, she now finds fulfillment in helping others experience the same joy and confidence that gymnastics brought into her life.
For Carolyne, coaching is more than just teaching routines; it's about nurturing growth and self-assurance in her students. Drawing on her studies in Psychology, she understands the importance of mental resilience and encourages her gymnasts to believe in themselves both on and off the mat.
But her dedication doesn't end with the athletes alone. Carolyne takes delight in working with families, recognizing that a strong support system at home is essential for a child's progress. By building a close-knit gymnastics community, she aims to create an environment where both gymnasts and their families can thrive together.
Through Hybrid Motion, Carolyne's mission is to ignite a love for gymnastics in her students and witness them achieve new heights. Seeing the spark of accomplishment in their eyes as they conquer challenges fuels her passion and drives her to improve the lives of everyone she encounters through the sport she cherishes.

My name is Doug Oldham (Coach Doug), and I am excited to be a new coach at Hybrid Motion. I have been coaching preschool, recreational, and competitive gymnastics for 24 years, including developmental levels 1-10 and Excel levels, Bronze through Platinum. I am originally from Montana, but have had the opportunity to coach in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. This has given me the chance to collaborate with coaches from across the nation, including many at the Olympic level. During my time in Oregon, I developed and coached a successful Ninja program for both boys and girls. I do my best to meet the diverse needs of all students, while capturing the motivation needed to reach their individual goals. I have the ability to maintain a fun and well-disciplined class where each student feels special, cared for and successful.
I have been married for 27 years to my wife Monika, who is a teacher at Saddle Peak Elementary. We are incredibly happy to be back in Montana and I am looking forward to working with you and your athletes.

My Passion for Gymnastics Ignited at a Tender Age, My mother enrolled me in gymnastics at four, and I embarked on my competitive journey at five. Throughout the years, I’ve secured numerous state titles and retired from the sport at seventeen, having earned a full-ride scholarship to the University of Washington as a gymnast. After a hiatus to pursue education and work, I was blessed to have two beautiful children, Alli and Noah. Both of them shared my love for gymnastics, my son ended up taking up baseball, and my daughter continued her gymnastics journey, just like her mother.
As time passed, I found myself yearning to reconnect with this incredible sport we call gymnastics. The phrase “Once a gymnast, always a gymnast” resonated deeply within me. To satisfy my desire, I decided to become a part-time coach while my daughter practiced in the evenings. The journey began with a humorous moment as I recalled learning how to teach a forward roll. "And just like that, my new career took off."
That same year, I transitioned into a team coach and joined my mentor, Stephanie, as a TOPS coach. I’ve had the Privilege of Working at the Olympic Training Center, Collaborating with Esteemed National and Olympic-Level Coaches Such as Mary Lee Tracy, Tammy Biggs, Tom Koll, and Many College Coaches. Through USAG, I received my Junior Olympic Coach Certification, and I’ve had the opportunity to coach various clinics and attend numerous national congresses.
I have now accumulated over 11 years of coaching experience. My coaching experience spans levels 1-10 in the developmental program, where I’ve led teams to numerous state titles and regional championships. I’ve also had the privilege of coaching many talented athletes who’ve made it into the top 100 leaderboard nationwide. My former TOPS program participants have now become successful HOPES gymnasts, some of whom are now college gymnasts excelling in their careers. Additionally, I’ve successfully coached Pre-team, Hotshots, and all levels of preschool and recreational gymnastics.
In my free time, I cherish spending quality moments with my family and my incredible fiancé, Nick. We enjoy various activities together, including camping, hiking, family game nights, UFC fight nights, baseball, riding dirt bikes or quads, and target shooting. I’m an amateur bow hunter. I have three beautiful cats—a mom and her two adult children—and a German shepherd.
My passion for this sport is even stronger now as a coach. I love watching them learn and grow, and I celebrate every little victory. You’ll Often Hear My Excitement in the Gym When I Am Coaching. People Have Complimented Me on My Tough Coaching Style, Discipline, and Fun-Loving Nature. I push my athletes to reach their full potential, and we celebrate those victories together as individuals and as a team. Nothing Is More Rewarding Than Seeing a Child Happy and Excited About Gymnastics and Succeeding in It. My goal at Hybrid Motion is to ensure that each gymnast is thriving, learning, growing, and succeeding in both gymnastics and life.
I am passionate about working with kids and love sharing my enthusiasm and experience with them. My coaching approach focuses on building technical skills while also fostering confidence, teamwork and genuine love for the sport.

In my free time you can usually find me doing something outdoors - hiking, skiing, camping, rock climbing or working out at my cross-fit gym.

As an MSU alumni I love teaching here in Bozeman. When I'm not teaching or furthering my own skills I enjoy another artistic expression in designing and creating jewelry as a goldsmith for my own business, Koda Designs Jewelry.
With dance being my first love, I am extremely excited to join the team at Hybrid Motion!
I have been dancing since I was just three years old and have tried just about every style out there. I am currently a student at Gallatin high school and on the dance team.
I have always loved kids and dance and helping people find their love for dance as well.
I believe dancing is about more than technique, it’s about having fun and being excited to try new things.

Hi! I’m Chloe. I am currently a student at MSU studying Exercise Science. I grew up in a small mountain town in Colorado called Durango. I’ve spent my fair share of time out in the mountains hiking, peak bagging, backpacking, climbing, and skiing. I have a competitive skiing and coaching background, which really helped kickstart my love for fitness and the gym. Eventually, I found myself in Crossfit gyms daily, and have loved the world of functional fitness training since. Having a good foundation for a healthy and athletic lifestyle is important, and therefore I am very excited to work at Hybrid Motion and help kids learn about all sorts of activities and introduce fitness as a fun, enjoyable experience.
